DJ Lelewel - Magic Atto II (The House)15. Fax Yourself - (Walking On) Sunshine 8916. Wood Allen - Airport '89 (Club Mix)17. 49ers - Touch Me (Sexual Version)Historical Facts- 'The Eve Of The War' was Ben Liebrand's first official release after successfully producing and remixing for others since 1982. The track is a remix of Jeff Wayne's 1978 track of the same name, which itself is a tribute to HG Wells' War Of The Worlds. The vocal narration is by 'Richard Burton'
- The original version of 'Black Betty' was released in 1977
- Sueno Latino heavily samples Manuel Gottsching's groundbreaking LP, 'E2-E4' from 1984.
- The man behind Gino Latino, Claudio Cecchetto, also wrote and produced Sabrina's 'Boys (Summertime Love)'
- 'Rich In Paradise' is a remake of Odyssey's 'Going Back To My Roots' from 1981
- The man behind Cappella is Gianfranco Bortolotti who contributed on some of the biggest Italo house tunes including releases from 49ers, Anticappella, Club House, East Side Beat, R.A.F. and many more
- 'Helyom Halib' samples LNR's 'Work It To The Bone'
- Daniele Davoli, Mirko Limoni and Valerio Semplici were also responsible for huge Italo house tunes as members of Starlight, Black Box, Wood Allen, Groove Groove Melody and more
- The piano sample on 'Numero Uno' is from 'Beyond The Clouds' by Quartz from 1978
- The Mixmaster is a pseudonym for Daniele Davoli. Grand Piano is essentially a produced minimix of the hits of 89
- 'Ride On Time' samples Loleatta Holloway's vocals from 1980's 'Love Sensation'. It had a huge influence on the music of the time since many tracks released after this included Loleatta samples, or vocals which resembled them (see 49ers on this mix as an example). Of course the main vocal on this track is 'Right On Time' but the group's terrible English resulted in the nonsensical title. The sampled vocals had to be redone for international release after Loleatta sued; the singer was Heather Small who later had success with M People. Neither Loleatta or Heather were given credit for the vocals at the time (vocal credits were not required on records at the time - this changed after Martha Wash spurred legislation to make vocal credits mandatory after she went uncredited on future Black Box releases and releases from C+C Music Factory). Instead the vocals were attributed to a model named Catherine Quinol (aka Katrin) who is generally regarded as the face of Black Box. Katrin screached the vocals live on their 2nd appearance on Top Of The Tops and it was laughably awful. And this ends my lecture on Black Box's first release...
- Yet another vocal scandal occurred with Technotronic. The vocals on 'Pump Up The Jam' were by Ya Kid K but the blue lipped model Felly, who appeared in the video, got all the credit
- DJ Lelewel is another pseudonym for Daniele Davoli
- 'Sunshine 89' is a remake of Eddy Grant's 'Walking on Sunshine' from 1978
- 'Touch Me' vocals are heavily sampled from Aretha Franklin's 87 release 'Rock-A-Lott'
