Historical Facts
  • Candi Staton originally recorded 'You Got The Love' as an a cappella in 1986. John Truelove (aka The Source and Now Voyager) mixed the vocal over Frankie Knuckles' 'Your Love' (hear that here) and released it as a bootleg in 1989. It had an official release in 1991 and charted at #4 in the UK singles chart. It has been re-released twice since then reaching #3 in 1997 and #7 in 2006.
  • Farley 'Jackmaster' Funk is one of the original 'godfathers' of house. 'As Always' is a remake of Stevie Wonder's 'As' from 1977
  • Kaos was a pseudonym for Kevin Saunderson
  • Roberta Flack started recording in 1968. 'Uh-uh' was written by Ashford & Simpson
'Was That All It Was' was produced by
    Marshall Jefferson
  • Sandee, aka Sandra Casanas, was an original member of the group Expose
  • Seduction eventually became a girl band project for Clivilles & Cole, but before that was the release of 'Seduction', which has one of the most memorable bass lines in house.
